Description

Note: These are my personal choices, and I don't give a shit about yours. So if you feel the need to try and correct my list, do feel free and earn yourself an automatic fail. No one will back you up.

I've seen this chart around a few times and by some strange coincidence, I also love video games. Which I'll still be playing at 89. Count Left-to-Right for the proper order.

-----------

#1: Dark Cloud 2: The mother, and father, of all RPGs. The story was practically perfect in every way. The characters were straight out of the mind of someone who thought carefully about design, as were the graphics. (Which are actually better than a lot of 360 games I've seen ¦o )

Real-Time fighting and baww manly tears voice acting, it really doesn't get any better than this.

#2: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness: Ever thought that you're spending too much time playing games? Yes? Then maybe you should play the DISGAEA series. Playing it too much still won't be enough to get you past the secret bosses. Get used to seeing the words 'Level Up' flash on your screen. :c

This is a game that you can never finish. Regardless of skill level. And it puts other SRPGS to mere shame. also, off the scale stats

#3: Final Fantasy VII: Yes, the series has been milked beyond belief. Yes, the fandom is about as nice as a knife forever stuck in your eye. However,

The story, the characters, the world and the hidden system were unlike anything I've seen in any other FF game. And get this, VII ISN'T about a tedious war!!! :0

I spent more time on this than I did studying. In my whole life.

#4: Sonic Adventure 2: Sonic's had a tough life. The later games just don't have the same feel as they used to, and let's face it; next-generation consoles are just making him slower. Still, it's better than just rehashing the same stuff all the time, ho ho

SA2 had the story of ages, characters you could fall in love with, even if you weren't a furry. And Sonic was fast, very fast. This was also the one game when Shadow the Hedgehog was as awesome as a supernova. It felt like you were that kid back in the day playing the 2D masterpieces. Except it actually made 3D look good. c:

#5: Grandia 2: A wonderful RPG if there ever was one. Grandia is more like a wild card in the RPG market, but then they brought out the second installment. Just as well, as the story, characters and advanced gameplay blew me away.

If there wasn't a single character that you bonded with in that game, you just weren't playing it properly. And the main character, Ryudo, still remains one of the biggest badasses in gaming history.

#6: Shadow of Destiny: The reason I started to love KONAMI. SOD is a perfect example of Time Travel and Paradoxes, from the mind of a genius. If you don't mind it raping you in your adrenal cortex, the interaction between characters will pull you in unlike any movie you'll see.

Graphics. Now, graphics, it shows you why the PS2 is just the best console ever made. It doesn't NEED HD or super realistic facial expressions to be believable. Just try not to be put off by the time limit. Yeah, it's real-time adventure.

"A thinking man's masterpiece."

#7: Tales of Symphonia: Unfortunately, I'd like Symphonia a lot more if I wasn't aware that the second one existed.

But the first time I played this, I thought I was traversing into some other dimension for real-time fighting games. The box art did have a problem though. It used the word 'Epic' on no less than 4 occasions in 4 paragraphs.

Actually, that's quite fitting, it WAS epic. You can't tell me that 2 whole big worlds to explore wouldn't satisfy you. Yet again, it doesn't need to rely on a pathetic war to make a story, as Symphonia's plot was like something you could probably only imagine. If you didn't love the gameplay, the characters will easily make up for your mistake. :U

#8: Skies of Arcadia: Picture this; Pirates, but they travel and conquer the skies instead. The original concept designer needs a medal and a drink of elixir for such an amazing idea. And, A RPG FOR THE DREAMCAST. Everything about this game was excellent. Really, it was.

Especially the story. There was so much more to just battling sky pirates and looting treasure. This was one of the first games that took the 'bad guys' and turned them into the main characters. Here's a hankerchief~

#9: Zone of the Enders, The Second Runner: Oh, Kojima, how do you do it?

Action games are incredible things, but action games where you control a giant, versatile orbital frame is even better. And who knows, the story could very well turn out to be what the future looks like. Space Exploration in search of a new energy source.

And the graphics. fuck, who needs a Playstation 6 when you have this game? :C

#10: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile: I can't count anyone as a NAMCO fan unless they've at least played this absolute gem of a game. To me, this even beats Crash Bandicoot as a platforming game.

We're talking PSX graphics here, but you can still see everything on screen in clear detail. And you couldn't understand the voice dialogue. Mainly because it actually WAS gibberish, not using any known language whatsoever.

Lastly, it may be #10 to me, but the ending to this game is undoubtedly the best ending I've ever seen in gaming history. And the only one that's ever brought me that close to BAWWWW.

-----------

So there you have it, the games that rocked my vidya world. Any objections? I didn't think so.

Interesting selections, most of these I've never played before but FFVII along with Sonic & Zone of the Enders are true classics I've played with my brother. :)
